Holiday Food Poisoning Compensation Claims
Holidaymakers are often at risk of food poisoning whilst travelling abroad. Whilst a minor case of food poisoning might ruin a couple of days of your holiday, contracting certain food-related diseases can be potentially life threatening and cause long-term illness.
Often tour operators will try to put illness down to viruses brought by holidaymakers or dismiss your concerns. However, food poisoning is a serious issue and if you have contracted food poisoning on holiday you may be able to claim for compensation.

Food poisoning can be due to a number of causes, including:
• Bacteria such as campylobacter, salmonella, listeria and E. coli;
• Viruses including the rotavirus and norovirus;
• Parasites, which are more commonly found in foods in developing countries; and
• Toxins that are often found in oily fish.
