Another Demoralising Defeat - Newcastle Town  5  v  0 TRAFFORD

Trafford crashed to a demoralising 5-0 defeat in their Presidents Cup First Round Tie at Newcastle on Tuesday night.
The visitors started brightly enough with Scott Barlow almost giving them the lead after just two minutes when he just failed to connect with a through ball from Paul Ashton.
Ryan Connor struck a powerful free kick that was deflected past the post and then Wayne Teague saw his thunderbolt rebound in to play off the foot of the post as Newcastle flexed their muscles.

Back came Trafford and centre back NiaBayunu saw his goalbound header saved at the foot of the post by Daniel Read before Barlow's strong run and shot was blocked and Kyle Harrop's speculative effort from 25 yards sailed over the crossbar.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 31st minute when Trafford midfielder Danny White attempted a back pass towards keeper Tom Read but Anthony Malbon nipped in to intercept and slip the ball past the oncoming Read.
Five minutes later Alan Nagington made it two when the visitors failed to clear a right wing corner and the game was as good as over in the 38th minute when Daniel Skelton struck a magnificent drive from 25 yards that flew past the helpless Read.

On the stroke of half time, Newcastle were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Trafford penalty area and when the ball was touched sideways, Paul Donnelly fired in a drive that took a wicked deflection and spiralled into the top corner.
Nagington almost snatched a second goal in the opening minute of the second half but Tom Read cleared the danger and then Danny White saw his drive from 25 yards comfortably held by Daniel Read.
In the 55th minute the home side went 5-0 ahead when a cross from Sidibe was flicked into the path of Wayne Teague who made no mistake from 10 yards.

Scott Barlow shot wide shortly afterwards as Trafford bravely pushed forward in an attempt to salvage some pride but Tom Read prevented a sixth goal when he turned a cracking drive from 25 yards by Skelton around the post.
The home side were reduced to ten men in the closing stages as Michael Douglas limped off and all three substitutes had been used but despite a couple of half chances falling to Scott Barlow, Trafford failed to take advantage.

Garry Vaughan's side will be hoping to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they travel to Skelmersdale United for an Evo-Stik League Division One North encounter kicking off at 3 p.m. and then on Tuesday night they make the journey to Bamber Bridge for a league fixture kicking off at 7-45 p.m.
