Trafford sunk by bottom club - Ossett Albion  2  v  0  TRAFFORD

Trafford produced a woeful first half performance and fell to a demoralising 2-0 defeat at bottom-of-the-league Ossett Albion on Tuesday night.
Manager Garry Vaughan gave a debut to goalkeeper Matt Nemes but the young Australian made a nervous start and was fortunate in the 15th minute when he allowed a cross to slip through his hands but Simon Poole's tap in was disallowed for offside.

Nemes then pushed a chip onto the crossbar before Ossett deservedly took the lead in the 36th minute when Trafford skipper Steve Thompson carelessly gave the ball away and Ryan White stormed in to poke the ball into the bottom corner.
Three minutes later Ossett doubled their lead when Josh Moore stole in to slip the ball past Nemes with Trafford vainly appealing for offside.

In the 42nd minute Joe Shaw squandered a great opportunity to reduce the arrears when he was put through by Scott Barlow but Ossett keeper Ashley Connor reacted brilliantly and bravely blocked the danger.
Trafford showed much greater spirit and determination in the second half but this was more than matched by a home team who were playing with an enthusiasm that belied their lowly league position.
Warren Collier headed over at the back post following a Joe Shaw cross and then Ossett striker Moore struck a fine drive that Nemes turned behind.

Trafford substitute Tom Bentham was introduced and immediately saw his low drive well held by Connor before Scott Barlow broke clear in the 73rd minute but was denied by a marvellous last ditch tackle by Kyle Cook.
In the 82nd minute Barlow had another golden opportunity  to score but shot wide with just Connor to beat and in the closing minutes Trafford right back Steve Mason went close with two headers from great positions.
Despite their improved second half performance, Trafford's management team and loyal supporters were desperately disappointed with their overall performance against a team that showed a greater desire to win.
