Medical Negligence

Prescription Error Claims

People take medication for many different types of illnesses, ranging from hay fever to diabetes. Taking the wrong medication can cause serious side effects, and in rare cases can lead to fatal consequences.

If you are prescribed medication by your GP or hospital, it is vital that you check the packaging before taking the medication, and read the leaflet inside. This helps to avoid discrepancies between the prescription and what the pharmacist has provided to you. There are many different types of negligence claims involving prescription errors. These can include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Medication prescribed for too long without regular check-ups
  • Incorrect dosage
  • Medication which the patient is allergic to
  • Multiple medications that should not be taken at the same time
